Vine Orchard offers seven self-build plots in Ugborough, South Devon, with four customisable home designs created by AtelierHB architect Ian Booker
Seven self-build plots in a picturesque South Devon village are now being sold with outline planning permission and a selection of customisable home designs created by AtelierHB.
Vine Orchard, with serviced plots on a private road in Ugborough, offers spacious plots of 504 to 612 sq meters in a natural environment with footpaths and walking access to the village. AtelierHB architect Ian Booker, who has been part of the development team from the outset, created four home design concepts with the environmental and sustainable design philosophy that he brings to every project. As well as a common ethos of sustainability and sympathy to the local environment, Ian can work with clients at Vine Orchard to customise any of the designs to meet individual visions and lifestyles.
The designs are for two-storey, three double-bed homes with floor plans ranging from 112 to 219 sq meters. They feature flexible open plan kitchen, living, dining rooms – with variations such as wood burners, double height living area, a media/games room, or a home office/gym. All were designed with connection to outdoor spaces and consideration for impact on the natural environment, which includes the carbon footprint of construction materials and methods, efficiency in running the home, recyclability and longevity. The adaptability of the designs over occupant lifetimes, such as the potential for multi-generational living, also helped lead to successful outline planning permission of the Vine Orchard site.
Wildlife friendly landscaping, ponds and easy access to outdoor spaces are part of the vision for the site. All of the plots have service connections for electrics, high-speed fibre broadband, water, sewage and drainage in place. Carport designs include secure cycle and bin storage.
Ian can be commissioned to tailor designs, assist with final planning approvals, preparation of detailed construction drawings and/or managing the build. The four designs are named for English heritage apples:
