Ian converted an old tin-roof agricultural shed on the edge of Dartmoor into a sleek, light contemporary space.
Once this tin barn served for hay storage, stabling and various other agricultural uses. After years of disuse, the owner turned her eye to converting it into a new home.
She wanted a light, easy-to-run space with good views and access to her land. She also wanted it to be stylish and contemporary - with both character and comfort. Retaining the barn's footprint, high ceilings and steel frame, AtelierHB re-designed it with straw bale and sheep's wool insulated walls and underfloor heating fuelled by an efficient air source heat pump.
Making the most of the views with a mix of openness and cozy spaces, the new Wyches Barn today is the perfect space for its owner to be.
